I am starting to make our bread myself. Rob can't eat anything but white bread because of his gout. I have managed to make white bread with oatmeal that he can eat and that tastes like darker bread. I do use a breadmaker though.

Usually, the temperature here is too low for bread dough to rise, so that is what worries me. Not sure how to work around that. Guess the breadmaker is good enough for me :)

Sprite - put a bowl of hot to boiling water in the oven or microwave to warm it up. Let the bread rise in there, refresh (heat up) the water after a time, if necessary.
