Many thanks, Rose. Everyone should know to email Sprite to dispense general news - she's wonderful! I'm so glad Ruru's okay but if he's not at home, that sounds like trouble. As I said, there is even a pall over San Francisco and anyone with respiratory problems is coughing their lungs out. I can't imagine what it's like near Napa.

Don't know if Nan is still around, but I checked into what she was saying about "air quality" and found her home town to be in an area that has wildfires around it just about every year. Can't imagine what that's like.

Yes, I live in an area like that also, Nan and I both had horrible smoke this year. We don't have it every year. Nan is in British Columbia and I am in Montana

You did have it bad up in BC and Montana this year. It's been such a destructive year with the fires and hurricanes. I want rain in Calif! Woke up to the smoke this morning - ~100 miles east of the terrible fires. Plus hubby's 91-yr-old dad was evac'd tonight, but he's now safely with a grandson's family. *Huge* sigh of relief that he's safe!

How awful for you. We must be living in the calm center of the storms of the continent. San Francisco was on the edge of a moderate earthquake 28 years ago ... and that's about it. I have nothing to complain about. Rain has been missing for - what? - over a decade now. Our water comes from rain elsewhere and snow run-off. Disaster is perhaps only a storm away. Meanwhile, Babble on, my friends. We cannot live with fear on our shoulders.

Actually, I saw the biggest little frog I've ever seen while I was watering tonight. We only have little ones where I live, I think they import most of the jumpers for the County Fair every year, lol!
