They don't resent us, they don't listen to us. They don't want to put the work in (with discipline) to prepare their kids for adulthood. They prefer a diagnosis and medication, then complain when medication doesn't help. I do not medicate kids for behavior problems. I recommend discipline and counseling.

I'll chime in with this: my beloved is a librarian, and recently a mother came in with her 3 children, all under the age of 10. Every time one of them wanted mom's attention, he screamed (literally) several times. After about a half hour, my spouse asked the mom if she needed help with anything, then helped her locate the books she wanted. The child continued to scream at the top of his lungs. Spouse said, "Um, excuse me, but your child is being disruptive to our patrons." The mother left in a big huff and then called my spouse's supervisor to complain that she felt "humiliated". !!!

i had one lady say "a substitute told my kid that if she comes up to the desk to show her another thing, she better be on fire. can you believe that?" she was so mad that the sub said that to her wonderful kid that wanted to show the sub a pretty picture for the 100th time. I asked the mother if the class could be taught with 30 kids doing that at will?
