This June marks my 10th "Babbleversary," and while there have been a few down with all the ups, I would be most sad to see Babble as we know it come to an end. Should Dr. G wish to "retire", I have told him in the past that I am more than capable of setting up a dedicated server tower, and with a bit of coaching from him, continuing to run babble on a day-to-day basis. I hope he has just had a busy day, and everything is fine, but it is times like this that we come to realize how important babble is for all of us--for a wide variety of reasons.

I have always wanted to collaborate with Dr. G and set up Babble as a touch screen game for tablets. The game dynamics would lend itself very well to a touch screen format--no more typing, just tap the tiles with your fingers to enter words.

cos, I don't know if this will help - it's hard to look at things we've been conditioned to regard one way and see as something else (and I hope you've been told this already), but restraints for someone in Ryan's condition are a good thing. it was a story where it went two different ways. it was i think taking place somewhere in africa. a young man was the pride and joy of his mother's heart.

he came home one day, riding his bicycle, as usual, and as he came down the steep slope towards their home, one of their chickens suddenly ran out into his path

he was going so fast, he couldn't stop, so he swerved instead, and hit something and flew off the bike and hit his head and died. his mother wailed and grieved, and was always saying for the rest of her life, "it was a only a chicken, not worth his life, he should have just run it down! then he might not have died!"

he was going too fast to stop, but he knew if he swerved it would be more dangerous than just running over the chicken. he ran over the chicken and it died. his mother was angry with him, "these chickens are our livelihood! we have so little! why didn't you swerve to avoid it?!" and she was bitter and never forgave him.
