Natasha, it was cooler in the woods, but in open areas it was hot. I thought I was going to have heat exhaustion on the ascent up Loft Mtn last Friday. So I stopped after 6.4 miles and let the other 3 continue for another 3.5 miles. They picked me up 2 hours later, but I got to watch mama bear with her yearling twins.

I have had to resort back to a 6 volume series by Marcel Proust who I am finding a very hard read.

Proust can be a bit of a slog... I'd rather reread something I enjoyed if hard-pressed for reading material. Will the book possibly arrive tomorrow, or will it not come until MOnday now?

Nah I will read the Proust books eventually. Will only read them as a last resort though. they cost me nearly Â£90 for them so will get through them at some point LOL

Yes! finally warmer here. yesterday it got up to 30+ here yesterday...hotter than normal, but not complaining after the horrid winter we endured. trees have started to leaf, but many are still in bud.

our forsythia is in full bloom the daffys and tulips are in bloom, lilaces are barely in bud-showing some colour, but it will be a while before they bloom

we have wasps here, I think there's a nest in the roof somewhere. That will have to be tended to as they somehow find their way into my apartment, so I am constantly having to escort them back outside!

they eat dead insects, so they must do something - I could do without them as well... especially in "silly season" when they sting for no reason at the summer's end..ornery critters!

I want to strangle my landlord... he did the first grass mowing of the year a few days ago and ran right over a beautiful clump of daffys in full bloom... he should just pave over the entire yard. He doesn't like animals or birds and doesn't like most fowers. He's an odd duck.
