There isn't a surgical i word. I believe the one you are referring to is a dental i word. The other is somewhat (obscurely so) a geometric word. ;)

The other i starts with the same first 2 letters. It means 'narrowed at the front' but sounds more like what you get when the storm blows stuff through your door. ;-)
