working hard, one day at a time, to learn to live with it and get past the destructive behaviour at least, lol. 'Our' addiction is extra hard, because you can stay sober and clean from alcohol or narcotics, but not from food. It is a balancing act every day, every meal.

My weight has bounced around over the years, but it was health issues, not eating issues. Well, part was eating stuff my body didn't like, but once I stopped sugar and gluten, I've stayed within 2 pounds of where I want to be. But I did get a tad shorter with age, lol! I used to be 5'6" when I was younger, now I can stretch to 5'4" if I really try.

My ancestors are Welsh and Swiss - all the women have gotten shorter - I'm afraid of osteoporosis - my mom had it, but made diet changes that resoved it. I need a new scan - already hit osteopenia, am hoping I've done right by my bones.

same has happened here. We used to be able to stop working at 65, and if you were willing to have a little less money, you could stop a few years earlier even. My beloved is 61, and in stead of working less, he has to stay working until 67 now.

That sucks. Mine was run out of his job because of his PD - boy was that a major stressor. He's 63, and had enough years in that retiring early only took a couple of bucks a month off of his county retirement, so that worked out really well.

first year: orange and Liga cookies.
second year: potatoes, meat and veggies

But the good thing is, in stead of pushing away the sad feeling and ignore it and then go on to have a big eating binge, I was able to feel compassion for the child I was and allow myself to be sad for a little while. And then to move on, because I am an adult now (most of the time) and I am able to make my own choices.

My mum had a pair of rose parakeets (love birds) some years ago, but now only the male is left, sharing a large cage with a budgie.

They are probably quaker parrots, the s has several areas where they have wild flocks. Some states have banned them as pets but surprisingly, the wild obes dont respect the law :p

All Mum's birds are ones she's inherited lately. There was a canary a dear friend of ours left to her when she died, but that died not that long after its owner did, despite Mum's loving care.

Hooligan is a real lap dog, and Willow waits for him to leave so she can take his spot. Consequently they are both seriously affronted when there are chores to be done.

The canary NEVER sang when it was with it's original owner. It did sing twice when it was with my mum. Once, just after it arrived and saw all the birds outside in her garden as well as the ones in her house and once just before it expired.

I saw Jac, I am more the grammar eye -roller . It makes me cringe but i try and chalk it up to typos- God knows I am a crappy typist on my ipad so I try not to be too judgy. ( although my children believe Judgy is my middle name : ))
