had a thing with my beloved yesterday... he's been withdrawing, shutting me out, going on the downward spiral into depression again ever since the rotten talk with his boss. And then he went and said yesterday that he felt abandoned by me, and very alone... I said I have been there for him the whole time, and he said it doesn't feel that way to him. Sigh. Have offered to help him write emails and all, but it seems he wants me to check in with him every hour or so and ask if he wants to do it now... or now... or now...
Have held him and hugged him, but also told him that I am not responsible for how he is feeling. That I am there for him, but it is up to him to make use of that.

I do not mind having to hold him up. But when he withdraws from me and then blames me for his feeling alone, things get a little messy. Had to clear it up for the both of us. hi again, sorry had to help a kiddo. his family has washed their hands of him - they are basically ruled by him and his behavior They do not require him to do ANYTHING at home, including homework, and have very much let us know that from 7:30-2:30 he is our problem

I would help him - i TRY, good god how I try - but he is too cool for school, and would rather fool around than admit he is desperately behind in all subjects and in real danger of flunking. I want the best for this kid, but he doesnt care - at all - his parents have tons of money, and he is so entitled and bossy that the real world will teach him more than I ever could

the lead teacher is MUCH more experienced than I am, and she is as tough as nails. She is all about "natural consequences" with heavy documentation. We can show that we provided or offered every indicated support, and he accepted NONE of them. The natural consequence becomes that he fails.
