I "ran astray" with this e 6/7 combo
10:14 am

Well, now. Isn't that an interesting O7 for 36?!?!?!? I'd heard the word somewhere before and tried it and it worked. Guess I never knew the definition before!
10:16 am

And there's another 8/S/50 that is a religion.

At 10:04am Wendrie said that the other S50 is a rodent. I just found an 8/S/40 rodent. So, I have 5x8 and 2x9 now, with this being my list:
8-40 i
8-40 r
9-54 r
8-50 s (religion)
8-40 s (rodent)
8-50 s (story line of play)
9-66 t
Can anyone confirm that the missing 8 is or is not an S50 that means rodent?

there are 4 words, including a seven, associated with that Australian guy with the nature show. I think his name is Steve.
10:35 am
jlm_mi
Good clue, parsec! Although for the sticklers, only 2 are strictly related to him. The others look similar, but one is the plural of a flower. The only definition of the 7 that I can find has to do with the color strength of saffron.

thanks, jlm, for the definitions. I get lazy about those.

Ah! there is another S/8/40. I was noodling for possible chemical words, but actually it has to do with test scores.
10:47 am
jlm_mi
So then I think there must be no 8/S/50 rodent word.
11:09 am
jlm_mi
So, the big words. I have all the 8/9 letter words and 12 of the 18 7s:
7/36/C - crown
7/44/C - having to do with the color of saffron?
7/28/E - one who wanders about (plural)
7/28/E - mistakes in printing or writing. Funny, it's actually the plural of a plural. :-p
8/40/i - containing no mistakes
7/28/i - crazier
7/28/i - immediate
7/36/O - masturbation
8/40 R - strong and deep in tone
8/56 R - plural of 8/40/R
7/36 S - of the devil
8/50 S - religion
7/28 S - a voiced speech sound (plural)
7/28 S - musical compositions
7/28 S - a 9-point scale used for normalized test scores
8/40 S - plural of previous
7/36 S - of or relating to tin
8/40 S - a mole
8/50 S - story line of a play
9/66 T - very fast
