hiya Christine! The cast came off and the healing is well underway, but the surgeon wanted me back in a soft cast for 2 more weeks, and I am to have another surgery to have one of the screws removed. Alas. So two more weeks of very limited mobility and then it should come off and stay off.

the screw must be taken out because it will break when I'd put weight on it. So it is for the best. Just sorry I will not be really mobile yet when Rose and Don are here. But grateful things are healing so well :)

I had big plans, for retirement -- volunteer at the AIDS Hospice, some mornings- help with the math and English programs at the library - go to the museums there was never time for - then the hospice moved, the library program was discontinued, and my knees quit, so I can't walk for long periods. Nevertheless - I can still read, so I'm happy.
