i read an article on octopi today. did you know it takes nearly 4 years for the eggs to hatch. and the mother stays with them the whole time, protecting them. not even leaving for food. such dedication.

sort of... but it was nice not having to rush through the morning in order to go out. sometimes it is difficult for me as we always have to sit outside as she takes her dog every where with her. i don't begrudge a minute of my time with her. apart from her sis, i am the only other person in her life to whom she can talk about anything and everything. she is a spinster in her late 60's. never married, and miscarried her once only pregnancy. despite that she has a wonderful love for her God.

An old wooden church near us burned several years ago, and I remember a fire fighter at the time saying that church fires are particularly hard to deal with, due to the "balloon like" nature of churches - all walls, with so much open air inside. Plus, the things inside churches - benches, linens and rugs, books....all tend to by highly flammable.
