I've been a "lurker" for years and one thing I've noticed is how close so many of these folks are. I too don't have a lot to say, so I've never involved myself, but this is obviously a place where a lot of people have made friends. I've seen a lot of interactions and hardly ever one that was truly problematic unless it was a troll jumping in a place they've never tried to really be involved in. Try getting to know people first. This is a long-standing group of people here who have always been friendly and helpful when I've needed a word or two.
