no need, that is about as hot as it is here. Over 40 Celsius. Way way too hot, especially when it is humid too. And pain is exhausting. I know! Am so sorry you have to struggle with that and are not even getting the medication you need. Can you go another route maybe? Find another kind of doctor/specialist who will prescribe and make sure you get the meds?

no, only in one ankle. I think it is because of the insane swelling. Bet it is putting pressure on the screws and that is what is hurting so badly. If I can sit with my feet up today (which means no 40C!), the swelling should go down and things should start getting better.

I was going to pipe in on that convo, but after she left, I didn't. My mom had dementia - undiagnosed "officially." Her mom did too, so I'm hoping that bypasses me when I get older.

I don't know. Might be the case. It is a scary disease, in so many ways. My heart broke on seeing my friend. She has changed from a loving, active, successful woman into a egocentric, clinging child most of the time.

Well, here's to the weather cooling off for everyone! I need to get ready for bed before I doze off at the computer. Sorry to hear about your friend. It was so hard with my mom - she treated me like I was a bad little child. The sad thing about that was that it became very obvious that she really did think I was a screwup as a kid. Still not sure why she felt that way - I got good grades. She thought I had personality flaws. Like everyone is perfect, lol!

She was inher mid-to late 80's when she passed. I remember chatting with her after a hurricane hit NYC. She lived on the 23rd story of a sky scraper there; they lost power and her son Bobby had been working. So she walked all the way down stairs to greet him when he finally got home and then they walked back up the 23 stories to their home. She was 84 at that time.
