Sorry Judi, but good call. I think it is unwise to be traveling until this virus scare is ebbing down. When we are all supposed to be staying isolated, it seems to be risky and somewhat foolish to be traveling. Unless it is for something urgent.

just got this from a friend - if you don't think history repeats itself, read on:
A LETTER FROM F. SCOTT FITZGERALD, QUARANTINED IN 1920 IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE DURING THE SPANISH INFLUENZA OUTBREAK.
Dearest Rosemary,
It was a limpid dreary day, hung as in a basket from a single dull star. I thank you for your letter. Outside, I perceive what may be a collection of fallen leaves tussling against a trash can. It rings like jazz to my ears. The streets are that empty. It seems as though the bulk of the city has retreated to their quarters, rightfully so. At this time, it seems very poignant to avoid all public spaces. Even the bars, as I told Hemingway, but to that, he punched me in the stomach, to which I asked if he had washed his hands. He hadn’t. He is much the denier, that one. Why, he considers the virus to be just influenza. I’m curious of his sources. The officials have alerted us to ensure we have a month’s worth of necessities. Zelda and I have stocked up on red wine, whiskey, rum, vermouth, absinthe, white wine, sherry, gin, and lord, if we need it, brandy. Please pray for us. You should see the square, oh, it is terrible. I weep for the damned eventualities this future brings. The long afternoons rolling forward slowly on the ever-slick bottomless highball. Z. says it’s no excuse to drink, but I just can’t seem to steady my hand. In the distance, from my brooding perch, the shoreline is cloaked in a dull haze where I can discern an unremitting penance that has been heading this way for a long, long while. And yet, amongst the cracked cloudline of an evening’s cast, I focus on a single strain of light, calling me forth to believe in a better morrow.
2:27 pm

My sourdough starter is made and I am doing a germination test on all of my old vegetable seeds. That's the extent of my productivity for the day.

i also have some old seeds, esp lettuce, which i've never grown but i think it likes this cool weather
5:20 pm
origami
lettuce is a winter/spring crop here. I will be planting some kale, chard and collards which tolerate the heat better.
5:21 pm
72 Temple Owl
i will just throw it in a large planter and see. it's not like i won't have plenty of time to wait.
5:22 pm

hokie carla
I prefer "may the odds be ever in your favor"
6:22 pm
MollyL
In my area, "stay safe" goes back to when those guys in the white van were going around shooting people. I think folks have just reverted back to it.
6:26 pm
dan2bit
firewords!
6:26 pm
dan2bit
turns out they weren't in a white van at all
6:27 pm

Which is another example of how things that get spread around on the internet may or not be true.
6:33 pm
MPittore
Molly you must be in my "neck o' the woods! It was very scary and I had several close encounters, once at Michael's, at the Shell in Kensington, Crisp n Juicy in Leisure World Plaza...the final was on stopped on Gaither Road near my office while they towed their car in front of me....eerie!
6:35 pm
rururocks

i guess Full Service wasn't an option :D
6:40 pm

7:34 pm
Uneaixoise
Molly, that's not normal for us in March
7:35 pm
MollyL
We have some days like that in early Spring. Right now we are around 54.
7:36 pm
MollyL
But we were in the 70's last week. I will take mild weather as a stress reducer for troubled times.
7:37 pm
hokie carla
we were only around 60 today but my mom said they were around 78, and we are usually 5-10 warmer than them
7:46 pm

It's crazy - it was 80 here a couple of weeks ago. Back down into the 50's. But, I'll take cool weather as long as I can get it. I detest the heat.
