I shredded the tendon and waited too long to have it repaired so my clavicle (which was then trying to meet my ear) is held together with cadaver tissue. lol, a friend was a surgical tech on that procedure and she said they had to 'break out the old school tools and dust them off' to fix me.

Speaking as an American who visited Canada the first week in March, (passing through Seattle) I'd say that there has been a gradually increasing awareness, almost like shock or grief, that has come through the entire continent. While we were at Whistler, the staff were doing things that would have been unthinkable in Seattle. When we drove home, we noticed Central Washington towns under lockdown. They had been open a week before. Two days after we left Whistler the ski area switched to take-out only, and related groups on gondolas. Two days later Whistler closed completely and we found out that we shared a dining room--twice--with some women from Hong Kong who tested positive when they got home.

I was in Wuhan till the first week in November, just before all this hit there. But I was in contact with my friends and colleagues, and recognized that in the modern world, it probably couldn't be contained. Dave Neihaus, who was the voice of the Seattle Mariners till his death a few years ago. He was a prince among men; when my daughter attempted suicide quite a few years back, I wrote him a letter about how his comforting voice was helpful in her recovery.
