I'm a believer (I feel a Monkey's song coming on). But all of the fireworks around here make it like a war zone. One of my dogs hides in the bathroom. The other barks all the time. And it goes on for weeks and weeks. Ah, the sound of M-80's and bottle rockets at 3:00 a.m.

We usually don't have this much fireworks action here. They are illegal. But fireworks shows being canceled, combined with the fact that the police have been a fairly low presence since COVID, has boosted our fireworks this year. I'm loving it.

We had no official fireworks for Canada Day (July 1), although the Calgary Tower was lit up. Yesterday would have been the first day of the Calgary Stampede, if we were having it this year, and we had a big display for that. (There will be another one at the end of next week.)

Lots of immigrants in my neighborhood. Very little reason to make a lot of noise. I get it, they are happy to be here and proud of their new country. But, geesh! They are, for the most part, illegal here also. But that stops nobody. And it goes on forever. I love fireworks displays put on by cities, etc. But when they shoot them off here, the explosion is like 15 feet from my house. It shakes the windows.
