1. I asked several different friends to do zoom calls. I was having 3-4 calls per week in March / April. Less now.

2. I started writing cards to people. Sent 20 each week for several weeks. With full messages.

3. I seriously limited my news to 30 minutes per day. The rest of my free time is spent reading, walking, doing crossword puzzles. And a tiny bit of nighttime TV.

4. I am outdoors most of the day, even it means I am just rocking on my porch and doing nothing else.

5. I found people who were in much worse shape than me, especially financially, and I found ways to help them. Altruism is the best mood enhancer possible. And it doesn't have to be $ support. It can just be phone calls.

I never knew why birds dive-bombed the squirrels until recently I read that the squirrels will not only steal birds' eggs, but eat the baby hatchlings if they can.

TO, right now they are busy picking all the baby pears on my pear trees and dropping them on the cars below... they do try to eat them, so there are bites taken out of every pear that drops...

They eat my plums also. But, I have too many too high up to pick, so I just enjoy them. I also have a mini bamboo forest in my backyard. I enjoy watching them play in there.

The males can be pretty aggressive during breeding season. They are all over the campus I work at and people have to walk in very wide circles around them :D The turkeys, not the coyotes, who just run away.
