5:49 am
Haz1558
Thank you, thank you! Most unworthy winner since I have never watched a minute of any Star Wars films.
5:49 am
Scrabbler
No? I am quite a fan.
5:50 am
Haz1558
No, I'm allergic to anything sci-fi or fantasy.

My son-in-law is a true fan of all things Star Wars.

I am close, but Star Wars sucked me in back in 1977.

Now I have 3 grand-nephews that are huge fans. Ages, 8, 5, and 2.

Haz1558
Does it not get confusing with all the sequels and prequels? Or do you just sit back and enjoy?
5:52 am
Scrabbler
I am confused, but the boys clarify for me.
5:52 am
Haz1558
Ha! Just as well they are there.
5:53 am
Haz1558
I presume their imaginations can cope with all the plot lines and can just absorb what's going on.
5:54 am
Haz1558
And do you watch these at home or in the cinema?
5:55 am
Scrabbler
I do not go to the cinema--too loud, too many annoying people. I haven't gone in maybe 20 years. So I watch at home.
5:56 am
Haz1558
I agree with you about the noise. I find it really overpowering. I don't go very often. I hate the sticky floors as well!
5:56 am

Oh, yes.

*waves to Dan* hello mate
9:05 pm
dan2bit
granny! how are you getting on, love?
9:06 pm
grannyrose
not so well Dan. the old ticker is playing up and i have had to cancel the surgery scheduled for next week.
9:06 pm
grannyrose
how are you all coping? i have been watching your posts on FB eagerly. i know you wouldn't post false news.
9:09 pm
grannyrose
i'm so upset too as two lovely christian lady friends of mine are carrying on like DJT has been poorly done by. and i going (excuse the language) WTF have you two not seen?
9:10 pm
dan2bit
I'm so sorry. I hope you will find relief soon. We are just watching the clock tick away and hoping for a smooth transition that can quickly start moving help to where it's needed. The areas where 45 got the most support are seeing the biggest surge in cases, and they can least support it with the health infrastructure being thin
9:11 pm
dan2bit
it is such a shame that he and his enablers primarily even now think of covid as a public relations problem not a real health crisis
9:11 pm
dan2bit
but what about my missing or5? :-)
9:12 pm
grannyrose
*giggle* did you blink? nm. or5 ends with the ending of the excuse you give to police.

9:36 pm
grannyrose
how are you Une?
9:43 pm
NANCY
granny I am with you completely on the present so called leader. He is so evil and trying to make anything and everything as hard as possible for our new president.
9:46 pm
NANCY
He is a very sick man. I read the book his niece Mary wrote and she says her grandfather ruined the Donald from an early age to keep him devoid of any empathy, feelings and the only think of himself. Nonetheless, no excuse for the cult members who have swallowed the koolaid they dont believe anything but the lies that djt spews constantly.
9:47 pm
grannyrose
Nancy, it's quite hard for those of us who don't live in the States. we only have the info which is given to us through the media.
9:48 pm
grannyrose
and of course friends within the States whom i know personally. which is why i am so upset about my friends stance. i simply cannot believe what they are spouting.
9:49 pm
NANCY
He should have NEVER been elected in the first place. He is a total failure and nothing but a realty show host. It has brought all the sickos in our society to follow him because they are racists and never liked Obama who is worlds and worlds above him in every way.
9:52 pm
NANCY
Well, just know that the nonsense you are hearing from your friends is not going to win in the end. I just feel bad that America has become a joke but still hold hope that Biden will repair the damage. Trumps only accomplishment is to destroy as much of our country as he can. He wants to be a Putin as he admires what he thinks is power. I cannot wait until the whole crooked administration and family is out of the white house. They are all only in for power and money.
9:54 pm
NANCY
There are multiple lawsuits awaiting him the minute January 21 arrives. I am hoping some of them finally nail him and his next home is in prison.
9:55 pm
grannyrose
oh Nancy, it isn't your country that is being laughed at scornfully. believe me. our hearts are breaking with what you are all suffering. it is so wrong on so many levels.
9:58 pm
NANCY
Thank you for that. It is uplifting to hear that from another country. Biden does care about our people and the country so things are sure to improve. Have been following your health problems and sorry that your next surgery has to be delayed. Growing old is only for the strong so sending you hugs and best wishes.
9:58 pm
Gillie
Even in the states, in seems there are people who know only what from certain news sources, e.g. Fox (although even Fox has declared Biden the winner), and possibly malicious items spread on Facebook?
9:59 pm
grannyrose
and believe it or not, DJT's followers are also to be prayed for. they have been following a very bad example of human behaviour.
10:00 pm
Gillie
Although it seems like anyone who has paid attention to what he says and does should realize that he just is a self-interested grifter and compulsive liar.
10:00 pm
NANCY
I have friends and even family members who drank the cult way of life. They only watch fox which is nothing but a propaganda machine and does not give the truth in any kind of news.
10:00 pm
grannyrose
i've seen the verbal attacks on FB. as i said, DJTs followers are not nice people.
10:02 pm
NANCY
Gillie, you would think but they do not listen to anything that makes sense, only follow what their leader spews out which is all lies.
10:02 pm
grannyrose
well i went to Politico to fact check both candidates. what is being said about Joe Biden has no truth in it at all.
10:04 pm
grannyrose
bbl. have laundry to sort and start the washer. xx
10:04 pm
NANCY
Good for you. He is a fine outstanding human and will do everything he can to help us return to a somewhat normal country.
10:05 pm
Gillie
Even Trump`s latest campaign to raise funds, supposedly to expose election fraud, says in the fine print that only donations of $8000 will be used (in part) for that purpose. The rest goes mainly to cover his debts and also to the RNC.
10:07 pm
NANCY
He is and has been a criminal all his life. Now he is cornered with no way out and no one to bail him out. How people can even think of sending this grifter a dime is beyond me. Especially since our economy is in the toilet.
10:08 pm
Gillie
Trump's debts are probably the main reason he wanted to be president, although he does love adulation. As president, he could both profit and offer favors to those he owed the most money to.
10:10 pm
NANCY
Very true, he probably owes Putin a bundle of dough.
10:17 pm
mixi6
I listened to part of the first "debate", (couldn't stomach any more) and was impressed that the Fox news anchor tried to stop Trump interrupting. It's very hard to stop a two years old tantrum politely.
10:19 pm
NANCY
He was coached to interrupt as much as possible so he would not have to answer any questions, My favorite line was Joe Biden telling him to shut up.
10:22 pm
mixi6
I thought he just wanted to talk for the hour. Equal time was 1 hour trump and 1 minute Biden. all about me, me, me. We used to have commmunity and helping. Ask not what the country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.
10:33 pm
mixi6
when I started working, it was :we want to keep our employees for 30 years and treat them accordingly", it changed to "to hell the employees, we're out to make a buck".
10:35 pm
maggiej
any hints for the ne 5?
10:39 pm
grannyrose
ne5/10. sounds like geek, but change the last cosonant, plural
10:39 pm
grannyrose
*ugh* consonant
10:40 pm
maggiej
I understood
10:42 pm
grannyrose
mixi, we have the same attitude with our employers. to hell with nearly 50 years experience, let's employ overseas trained people because the government will pay half their wage. there is no such thing as employer loyalty any more.
10:49 pm
maggiej
I am the last direct member of a family that has controlled a closely held corporation since 1919. Of 10 employees the one with the least amount of service is 22 years. All these years my family has rewarded loyalty. It is tough navigating the political waters. One thing I am having a heck of time doing is finding a couple of millenials willing to work. We are considered to be an essential biz so we are tackling the current times. And, we have not considered accepting the the financial gambits proffered. Sorry to intrude I am a longtime lurker but just had to vent.
10:51 pm
grannyrose
go for it maggie. i agree. family run businesses tend to have a different approach to employers who work for a business syndicate.
11:02 pm
maggiej
Sorry for the dump ... just thanks your lucky stars I didn't mention my ugly divorce that has been going on for over two years, restraining orders in place so my stepson could marry in Sept and stepdaughter last month, their father has estranged absolutely everyone in his life. On that note I'll try to get to sleep another set of appts at the office tomorrow.
11:03 pm
Gillie
The business of paying half the wages of overseas employees sounds like it may be specific to Australia, but there are countries who have a combination of very low wages and many highly trained workers, so if you can use overseas labor, it can be tempting.
11:04 pm
Gillie
One of the unfortunate consequences of world-wide inequality, and hard to solve.
11:05 pm
maggiej
I will never outsource work that can be done by employees to a 3rd party anywhere. I know all the big boys play that way. But not the little guys on the block.
11:06 pm
Gillie
Yeah, and these days executives in big companies aren't necessarily loyal even to the company, never mind the employees, as long as they can find a way to line their own pockets.
11:10 pm
grannyrose
maggie, no apologies are necessary. you have a very valid point about family owned businesses. i just can't stand seeing inappropriately trained people taking over Australian jobs.
11:19 pm
grannyrose
oh dear my darling just made me belly laugh. we were "argufying' over whether my wheelie walker would fit in the back seat of our car. he says we can't do it because he's just shampooed the glove box. laughing so hard..
