Ruru, it wasn’t bad until this past year; now I’m pretty much resigned to 24/7 nursing ( & I’m very happy we moved in to assisted living this year, because I can’t get him up when he falls these days.

Oh, jeez. Yes, assisted living is a good thing (if you're in the right community). Went through that with my mother when dementia/old timers struck her. My brother moved in with her and husband because husband couldn't get her up off the floor by himself if she went down. It's a horror to see family go through such. I'm glad you've had so many better years than not so good. You're blessed.

I went “ shopping” for a good place about 2 years ago; DH’s neurologist told me that he needed to be in assisted living back then; so I looked around & had a whole list things I was looking for. At that time, I didn’t think we were ready to move, so I put the move off as long as possible(& we had to wait for an opening here too).I’m very happy

Did he play sports in his youth? I'm sorry, not my business. I have a friend whose father just passed away from said topic and they believe it was due to numerous concussions (football)... I think that those "old timer" injuries are starting to show their faces... we're infallible in our teens, who worries about long term at that point/
