Yaaa! I finally get my first COVID shot today!! It is will be of the AstraZeneca variety, and I have no reservations whatsoever, given the 1/100,000 odds of a potential blot clot. I stand better odds of getting run over by a car stepping out my door this morning, so bring it on. With our ICU beds overflowing, and hospitals transferring patients all over just to find a bed, and all hospitals on the cusp of emergency triage measures, I will not be choosy when it comes to what type of vaccine I get.

I just cannot take the chance. I am an essential service employee in the food service industry. As such 2000-3000 untested customers come through our doors every single day. We cannot temp check them, we cannot ask them if they are coming from a "hot zone." I think I am getting my shot just in time, as this "third wave" is set to be terrible.

wondered after reading your comments. Everyone has to wear masks in stores here and no indoor eating -- not even at costco. Indoor tasting at wineries also closed. And no non-essential travel outside each health authority. We are supposedly getting more travel retrictions today. This is all in effect until after the May long weekend.

I am having cataracts removed in a couple of months, so had to go for related eye scans yesterday. The clinic of course insists on all the coviid protocols, takes temps, as you go in - the whole nine yards. The technician (a woman in her 30's) ,whose mask was hanging below her nose most of the time, infomed me when I asked her to pull it up that she didn't believe in masks and because she has asthma they bothered her. Then proceded to tell me that she thought masks were an infringement of her rights and privacy. Following which she proceded to tell me about a wine tasting tour to the south end of the valley she and her friends were planning for this weekend. I was cooped up in a tiny office with no ventillation with this woman for at least 3/4 of an hour. I still feel like reporting her.

it is an easy procedure, cybernan, as long as the cataracts are not "to ripe." 20 minutes in and out and the results are instantaneous. My beloved had hers done a decade ago.
