the problem is there are two ways to think and talk. one is from a public health perspective, in which vaccination is obviously insanely helpful. then there's the individual perspective, wherein one would prefer to be 100% guaranteed safe, which is not at all the same as the public health perspective. in that perspective one thinks "oh no, i can still get the virus?" whereas in the public health perspective, there is all the difference in the world - crammed hospitals vs a manageable, small number of patients.

We are mandated to wear masks in our building/office when in common areas (aisles, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.) which is understandable until you take into consideration that my cube-mate coworker are generally the only people in our area (which seats 35 people) and our cube is directly through the front door, lol. Because I have a contact latex allergy, I started making masks for both my husband and me quite early. I happened to have some pre-quilted fabric around, and thought 'why not". Turns out, the 3 layers work well - a layer of cotton on each side of the quilting.
