I am strongly pro life and since there are so many good methods of birth control I see no need to kill the unborn. It seems to me that it is more a choice of a lack of planning and self control...I am also a strong Christian and do not see how anyone can abort a baby when we have so many families who can't concieve and are looking to adopt

No one is PRO ABORTION. BUT they are PRO CHOICE! A woman should have the right to choose if she wants to have a child or not and that is what this is about!!!!!! Every woman should have the FREEDOM to decide what she wants to do! It is a freedom issue. Most people who have abortions are NOT HAPPY ABOUT THE NEED TO HAVE ONE, but I strongly believe they have a right to make their own decision and they are not hurting anyone else.

As usual, late to the debate, but my tuppence-worth on the abortion debate. The Eighth amendment to the Irish Constitiution banned abortion. Consequently, thousands of Irish women annually took the boat or plane to the UK to avail of abortion services. Within those thousands,there were women whose pregnancy was a result of incest or rape, a drunken one-night-stand, an over amorous husband who demanded his conjugal rights despite already having 10 plus children. There were also the women, like Sinead O Connor, who used abortion as a form of birth control. There is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to the provision of abortion. Each and every abortion carried out is carried out for differing reasons. Men in suits should not be allowed to legislate for abortion. (End of rant)

In conclusion, following a bitter campaign, a very limited form of abortion is allowed here now.
