Nice! Our roadside sellers are shrimp by the pound. This time of year is rather productive for them. Oysters are harder to come by but if ya "know someone", they can hook you up, lol.

So I hear, lol. I'm not a seafood liker in general... I won't order in restaurant (too $$ for something that I may take one bite of) but I'm not against trying it in different places. However, everyone I know LOVES it, so *shrug* so I know the desire (of others). Crawfish boils are great. I usually go with hubby and peel them for him (not that he doesn't peel his own but gives me something to do while I'm socializing, lol)

Yeah, the best shrimp/price is sold at the dock in the mornings... not always but I have a friend who is on some kind of feed that tells him when they will dock and he lets us know.

I don't like kelp so white fish meat is ok. Catfish depends on where they live. The river cat here have a tendency to taste like river mud smells (imagine that) but if ya know how to clean/cook it can be pretty good.

we used to have a shrimp guy who was there frequently during shrimp season, but we don't have a shrimp season anymore...

shrimp season never ends here. Oyster season is limited and Lord help you if you want to catch Redfish. That season can be as short as a day, depends on what the state opens (and closes on a whim), so you have to monitor the Gulf fishing regs on a regular basis...
