My favourite Christmas carol related anecdote revolves around the then 5 year old Son of Soodle. I had set up the crib, with the three wise men, the shepherds, assorted animals, and Mary and Joseph. I asked him to identify some of the characters, which he did, reasonably well. Then I pointed to a random shepherd, and said Who is that? He said, with great authority 'John Bergin'. I was puzzled till he began signing Silent Night. ...Holy Night, All is calm, all is bright, Round John Bergin, mother and child....
