I read that Baltimore scratched 52 bus routes on the first day of school (yesterday). Parents are shit out of luck and have to find transportation for their kids. Lack of staffing.

my friends high schoolers waited over an hour for their bus.
parents finally drove them so they wouldnt be late.
apparently bus showed up after the middle school buses -- well over an hour after schedule.

I can't believe the amount of people driving/picking up kids from the elementary school around the corner from me. The line to pull up and pick up kids is 50 cars long when I go by in the afternoon. It's insane.

yeah, I took a bus every day of my life. my kids mostly rode the bus. I hated doing the car rider line because it was crazy. and people would get there 45-60 min early and just sit in their cars waiting. like, you got nothing else to do?

my neighborhood was off a narrow two-lane road with no sidewalks or even shoulders. not walkable to anywhere. though once in HS, my brother missed the bus and walked home via the railroad tracks.
