I will get flu next week at my regular check up. I'm undecided about covid. I got the original and boosters. Last booster wiped me out. Pain at the site and sick. Got Covid anyway. But nothing has ever been as bad as when I was still teaching and got strep, flu A and flu B all at once. The doctor chuckled when he got the results. If I hadn't felt so awful, I might have boinked him on the head.

I've had influenza and covid vaccines- 6 for covid. I had covid when it was a new thing and was in the hospital for 3 days. They wanted me to stay longer but it was freaking me out. I signed out AMA. Since then I have had omicron and rebound, but my last covid shot only left me feeling achy for a day. I had influenza last year too. It's been an all around disaster health wise, but I am feeling fine and safe enough to be in the gym again. I got my last booster at my doctor's office and was in and out in 5 minutes.

as a medic, we also have to accept that no vaccine is "safe". Risk is subjective. What I think is too risky is not the same as what some of my clients think, even with all the facts. my oldest son was required to get one back in Jan. '22 to return to college. the problem is he probably had it the week before but there was a test shortage and wasn't able to get tested, and now they say to wait a month or three so who knows what that did to him.

my autoimmune disease, I believe, has rendered me impervious to some viruses, but more susceptible to others... it was like viral russian roulette when covid emerged... will I be immune? will I be in the hospital? who knows? My Rheum couldn't predict it either. So I hid inside for about 2 years.
