I'm stuck after 70 words, so looks like a small Babble today, still I'm on holiday so have all day!

For me, it is mostly a matter of "Try anything, however unlikely". Like yesterday's "diazole": I had the zole, so I just tried the diazole, for it sounded like a remotely possible word, and it took it. Don't know if I would have found it by using a clue!
Also, puzzling a lot expands your knowledge of the more unusual words - some I find because they have come by before in another grid or puzzle. Like the stupid "aarrgh" thing.
And when you get really stuck at the end, the a2zwordfinder can be a help (it uses the same dictionary as babble).

boober: there are 2 F5/16s. One is the plural of an F4/7, so I guess that is the one you have. The other is a verb, meaning "disturb, upset, embarrass". It is not the most usual spelling of it, though. Probably you find it faster by taking one of your E4/4s and add on that.
