Wilson, just play as you're accustomed. The lists are telling you how many words begin with 'a', how many start with 'd'. etc

letter count tells you how many times the letter is used in total. rather useless info, but people tend to spend hours trying to find a word with Z when there are none. I should probably just let them waste their time, but....

Word count is rather obvious, if not formatted the way you're used to. I also have the word count broken out thus:

Usually I do not use aids, though when I need a couple more words to finish that I cannot seem to find, I grab a dictionary from the shelf here or try a2zwordfinder. Some very strange words come around regularly, so when you play more often, you start to recognise them.
Also nice: finding words by typo's :D

hello all, i love reading the log, but i too, while at times i do use a2z there are lots of words that repeat, and noodling always helps. i read the log but i rely on the word counts and take my lead from those. i am just so happy not to have to rely on my husband for stats....lol

I also use a word finder, but only after my feeble brain has tired. Sometimes the listed words are not spelled as we think they s/b.
After two hours, 75/839. Missing 3 6 ltr wrds, 4 5 ltr wrds and 6 4 ltr wrds. Need the last e, g, h , 2 l's, r's ,s's, and 4 t's. After one week of playing, haven't come this close to finishing. Good thing I can rest overnite. Ciao...
