Jacula
I see some of you seem to know each other and e-mail each other etc. Do you all meet on another site or did you meet here? I did see someone ask earlier in the day how long 'babble' has been going and if BrandyJack's the puzzle setter but I don't think they got an answer.
I came here just this week after seeing the site addy in the UK's Mail on Sunday mag.

I don't know your age, but if you're in your 40s like me, then you might well remember transistor radios and the little thing you plugged into the side of one in order to listen to it just to yourself? That's your 'ea' word.

i'm not the puzzle designer or setter. that honor belongs to the one Dr_God. I'm just a poor addicted sod with nothing better to do than waste my energy programming in old GWBASIC.
And all it does is use someone else's decoder to generate the list which it then analyses and spits out all those tantalising clues......
8:35 pm
Minski
I have 22 H words and am missing 3. I also have only 10 HAs but I am missing 2 of them.

Well thanks for all your sterling work BrandyJack. I do mean that! First thing I do when I log on is copy off the grid. Then I look for your breakdown of number of words and how many for each letter.
8:43 pm

Are there really 2 Hi words? Could I please have definitions if they exist? Also does anyone have the HA 4/7 that is either the 3rd word or the 4th word? I have one but not the other.

After that I go away with a pen & paper and either sit at the kitchen table or in the garden (depending on the weather) and see what I can come up with for myself. I then put all those words in and go to look for clues from the log after that.

9:12 pm

jera and batty - in 6 - think of a bridge and what it does
9:26 pm
brandyjack
this puzzle has been bad for mis-directions. that M over by the two O's is almost invisible compared to the two M's atop each other. So you make the PR5/22 that is easy to see, but you miss the same word using the other M becasue it is so difficult to see and thus miss the pluralisation of it. Although strictly speaking it may not be a plural..... My grammar is not the best. I got a 51 in english studies so they wouldn't have to look at my ugly face for another year.....
9:29 pm

er, Napoleon liked his brandies, look what it did to him... I prefer a good bottle of Drambui or Grand Marnier.
9:29 pm

batty - that last 'in'. It's what your fingers would be if they were where you expected them to measure. The proper definition is 'attach a yoke or harness to' (an ox, donkey or other beast of burden).
9:32 pm
Jacula
Well BrabdyJack, I don't know where you live, but I would guess the US or Canada, given the times you are here? I keep odd hours and so hence the nickname 'Jacula' (it's really Jackie or Jacq). There's a bottle of Grand Marnier her in UK for you. Thanks for all your help.

mom23 - that semper word, as you put it (last 2 letters turned around) IS a word. It's a Latin term used in music now and means 'mainly the same throughout'. Much like modern so-called 'music' then! LOL.

9:56 pm

Jera - politest version of what you are looking for today is 'when a boy grows up, he enters ma*****.
Failing that, try 'male headgear', 'meat and 2 veg', 'middle wicket', 'bat & balls' or the drawing
